Greetings to everyone!
What a beautiful snow fall we've had! God has
covered everything in a frosted mantle of glistening white. The trees look
ready for a Christmas card photo, and the children are finding the local
hills are in fine form for racing sleds.
Such is the season of Christmas in Kansas. You never
know whether you'll need snow boots or flip-flops, or if the day will call
for overcoats or T-shirts! Seems that this year it will be
boots-and-coats, but it's still too early to tell.
Snow and boots, Santas and assorted bell ringers on
every corner, almost takes the Christmas spirit out of a person. If I
could, I'd go into hibernation from November 'til February!
But then I remember, the Reason for the Season is
with me all year long! We celebrate the birthday now, and the death and
resurrection at Easter, but Jesus is with me, in my heart and at my side
every step of my way. And hibernation would mean sleeping through the best
part of our relationship - the chance to let His light shine through for
the world to see. I want everyone to know the God I serve, the Son Who
came to save us, and the Holy Spirit Who guides us. Now, who in their
right mine would give that up for a little sleep-time?
May God look on you and your families this year and
find you reading and studying His word, and "preparing the way for
the Lord" today and everyday of your life.
God bless you all, Pastor Steve
